Following the Smoked Gin launch in March, Archie Rose has released a sequel in the Archie Rose Concepts label – the Ironbark Smoked Rye Malt Whisky.

This current release is the result of much experimentation and is an unusually low expression at 40% ABV, which was selected to highlight the water-soluble smoked notes.

Tasting Notes

Caramel, cream and fruit accents of Rye Malt Whisky heightened by meaty smoked water, made by melting huge blocks of ice in the wood-fired oven of neighbouring Three Blue Ducks. Flocked, unfiltered and including its natural haze and char remnants, the resulting spirit is reminiscent of vanilla eclairs and brandy cream on the nose with a charcuterie board of cured meats in the background.
